Oil level filtration
Frequently asked questions
A separator and an adsorber serve different purposes. A vacuum pump separator removes oil droplets from the airflow of an oil-lubricated vacuum pump. The separated oil can then be returned within the system. An adsorber is used to bind certain contaminants or moisture to a filter medium. Which solution you need therefore depends on what you want to remove from the air or the system.
There is no fixed replacement interval that applies to every vacuum pump. Service life depends on operating hours, load and the conditions in which the pump is used. As the element becomes contaminated, system performance can decline. Always check the maintenance instructions of your vacuum pump and replace the element in good time. Based on brand, type and part number, Interfilter can supply a suitable replacement element.
In an oil-lubricated vacuum pump, the process creates an airflow that may contain oil. The separator is fitted in the separation section of the vacuum pump to remove this oil from the airflow. This allows the oil to be recovered and limits the amount of oil carried out with the exhaust air. The exact design differs per brand and type of vacuum pump.
Yes. In oil-lubricated vacuum pumps, the oil that the separator element removes from the airflow can be returned to the system, so it can be reused. A properly functioning separator element is therefore important for both the airflow and the oil management of the vacuum pump.
When a filter element becomes heavily contaminated, resistance can increase and the installation may perform less well. Oil separation can also become less effective. Timely inspection and replacement help prevent breakdowns and unnecessary strain on the vacuum pump. Always follow the maintenance intervals of the installation.
Yes. Interfilter supplies replacement vacuum pump separators and other filter elements for a wide range of brands and types of installations. The part number of the existing filter is usually the easiest starting point. Don't have it? Then send us the brand, the type of vacuum pump and the available dimensions, and we will look for a suitable alternative.
