Air, fuel, and oil filters
Frequently asked questions
The Beta ratio is a value used to assess the filtration performance of a filter. It indicates how well a filter removes particles of a certain size from a liquid. Higher filtration performance means that a larger proportion of these particles is retained. The required performance depends on the engine, the installation and the requirements for the oil or fuel. Interfilter can help you select a suitable filter.
In full-flow filtration, the entire oil flow passes through the filter before the oil continues through the system. In bypass filtration, only part of the oil flow is filtered separately. Which method is used depends on the layout and design of the lubrication system. When choosing a replacement filter, it is therefore important to work from the specifications of the existing installation.
Water can be removed from fuel through coalescence and separation. In a coalescer, very small water droplets are merged into larger droplets. These larger droplets are easier to separate from the fuel. A separator then prevents the separated water from re-entering the fuel flow.
A particle filter is designed to remove solid contaminants such as rust, dust and other particles from the fuel. A coalescer targets small liquid droplets, such as water in fuel. These droplets are combined into larger ones so they can then be separated. When both solid contamination and water are present, a filter system can use both techniques in series.
Yes. Interfilter supplies air filters, fuel filters and lubricating oil filters for various brands of engines, compressors and generators. To find a suitable alternative, simply send us the brand and part number of your current filter. If these are not available, additional details about the installation or the element can be used. If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of our specialists.
