Part description

Cartridges filled with activated carbon or a chemisorbent

Carbon cartridges and carbon frames are used to effectively remove odours and gaseous contaminants from airflows. The cartridges are filled with activated carbon or a chemisorbent and are installed in a matching frame. Thanks to the modular design, the carbon cartridges can be replaced easily without dismantling the entire filter installation.

The housings and frames are available in galvanised steel, stainless steel or plastic, making the carbon filters suitable for use in corrosive or aggressive environments. The standard filling consists of activated carbon, but depending on the application, impregnated carbon or a chemical filter medium (chemisorbent) targeted at specific gases or odours can also be selected.

Examples of applications for carbon cartridges

  • Extraction from production areas and laboratories
  • Odour filtration for restaurants and hospitality venues
  • Ventilation of storage tanks and process installations
  • Protection of equipment and archives against corrosive gases
  • Air filtration in museums, hospitals and office buildings

In addition to these applications, carbon cartridges are also used in various other environments.

Specifications of a carbon cartridge

  • Carbon cartridge material: galvanised steel, stainless steel or plastic
  • Mounting frame material: galvanised steel or stainless steel
  • Standard filling: activated carbon. Also available with impregnated carbon or a chemical filter medium (chemisorbent)
  • Max. carbon temperature: 40°C
  • Max. relative humidity for carbon: 70%
